Thunderstorm Trap ~ a Kayla <3< Boomer drabble
"Ugh. Why's it gotta start raining now?"
Boomer had been on her way home from a daredevil act when the storm began. Initially just a light drizzle, the rain slowly started to pour down harder, until it evolved into a full-on thunderstorm. Of course, Boomer being the tough girl she is, she refused to run to shelter until she heard thunder. Of course, right when that thought entered her head, a loud thunderclap startled her. She immediately ran to the closest building to her- Akari's house. Akari, seeing her friend at the door, happily let her in.
"Thanks for that, Akari. So is it just you and me, or did you let anyone else in?", Boomer asked.
"Yeah, there are a couple others in here, too," Akari then replied.
Boomer walked into the main room and started going over the situation.
"Okay, so it's storming. I'm stuck in here with you..." -she pointed to Akari- "...Skyler, and...KAYLA?"
Kayla, sitting in the back of the room, frowned and turned away. She and Boomer didn't like each other very much. Boomer sighed, prompting Akari to ask what was wrong.
"Ohh, this gon' be a night," Boomer replied.
A game of Truth or Dare started later that night. All was going well, until Kayla and Boomer decided to mess with each other. Boomer went first.
"I dare Kayla to step outside in the rain."
Kayla gasped, but she knew she couldn't refuse. So, she grudgingly stood up and walked outside for a minute or two. When she came back in, she was soaked and definitely not happy.
"How dare you, Boomer! My hair's ruined!", she yelled angrily. So she sat back down, and after Skyler chose to ask Akari who she had a crush on- she answered Boomer, which surprised no one- it was Kayla's turn. You could've sensed the nasty plot in that mischievous smirk she had.
"Time for a little...revenge. I dare Boomer to dress up in a frilly dress!"
Boomer leaned back a little, before she went along with it. After dressing up for a moment, she came back out in a dress with her colors- red, white and blue. She was also blushing furiously. Kayla burst out laughing on the spot; you could just feel how cathartic it must've been for her. Akari smiled, and noted that the dress actually looked pretty good on Boomer.
So after a brief discussion- and Kayla trying to stop laughing for a while- Boomer decided to leave the dress on. A few more feuds between the two lasted through the night, before everyone went to sleep.
The next morning, the storm was over, and everyone departed. Before leaving, Boomer and Kayla teased each other a little more. What's to be expected from those two, anyway?
